So my "maternity leave" did include two cakes, one for my little boy, the Cars cake, and this one for my niece.I made it when I was 38 weeks pregnant, and hoped that working hard on something possibly stressful would put me into labor. Of course I was EXAUSTED, and couldn't find the energy (Little did I know I was carrying a NINE pound baby around, no wonder I could barely move!) So this cake didn't turn out quite like I was hoping and I never posted anything about it, but now I can share it because I'm not pregnant and I can now just laugh about it and how disastrous it really was! Thanks to my sister in law for letting a very crazy, hormonal, ready to pop out a baby, pregnant woman, pass some slowly passing time! It really helped keep my mind off of how badly I wanted to be in labor, for a day at least! Inside the cake was PINK! Little Claire was such a doll digging into it!

I'm Back!
Hello cake world, I've missed you dearly! It was a long pregnancy and I've been a little shy coming back to you. With two little ones and a tiny apartment, it's not the ideal cake making lifestyle. But after 4 months post baby, I think I'm finally ready to jump back in and give my life a little more crazy! (as if its not crazy enough right?) There are a few things I want to make clear, I will not be doing wedding cakes at this time, until further notice, but will love to bake for any other occasion. I can not deliver cakes out of town, so unless you live in the Cedar City, UT area, you must be able to pick up the cake and work that out with me. And don't forget that I also do cupcakes, look at older posts to see what I have done in the past. Email me for availability and price quotes. Thanks for being patient and understanding while I took my long much needed break! I'm so looking forward to caking, baking, and cupcake making!

Cars cake
This is the cake I made for my little boy for his 2nd birthday! I did it all while big and pregnant and let me tell you it was not easy... lets just say I made myself SICK over it, literally. This is why I have not made any other cakes while being pregnant and I'm not sure when I will be able to get back into the groove of baking. This pregnancy has been really hard, but oh I am so excited to have another baby, he will be here in just a few short weeks! After that I will need to get the hang of having two kids before I jump back into the cake world. I'll keep you updated!
Also, just a side note, the structure of this cake was really bad because I tried to fill it with pudding instead of buttercream (I will never do that again). The weight of the fondant just squished all the pudding out the sides, not to mention it made the cake too gooey. So that is my explanation for the leaning tiers that look bloated. :) I also like to use the excuse that I was pregnant and miserable, so it's definitely not my best work. O well, you learn by making mistakes!

Maternity Leave
Hey everyone! FYI, I'm pregnant with baby #2! I'm also confined to my couch all day, every day, believe me, it's no fun! The saddest part about it is that I won't be able to do any cakes for the next 2-3 months, depending on when this horror is over with. I'll keep you updated on when I'll be available again for more caking! :)

Doctor, Doctor!
I whipped this little 8" cake for our Pediatrician/ Uncle/ Employer. He is the greatest, so this is how my husband and I wanted to thank him. Who doesn't love cake right? This one was a butter pecan batter with striped cream cheese frosting and coconut pecan filling in the center. And in case you are wondering what that yellow thing is, it's supposed to be just a little sticky note. All edible of course!

Wedding
My second wedding cake. I was so worried about what this one was going to look like. It was so hard to get the real cake to look as nice and perfect as the Styrofoam, but after putting it all together and getting the ribbon and flowers on there, it looked great!
Monster Theme
I loved making this smash cake! I have to give the credit to a picture Brandi showed me on Pintrest.
Such a cute idea!
These little monster heads were so much work, but it all turned out so cute.
